Today I joined the 26th Annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid. Legal aid funding provides attorneys to assist residents with critical legal issues related to housing, domestic violence, unemployment claims, access to education and health care, and more.

It was wonderful to attend the State of the Commonwealth last night. My hope is that Massachusetts will take concrete steps to stop ICE from terrorizing and harming our neighbors, looking forward to a productive session ahead.

I was proud to host a hearing on a bill I filed with Sen Eldridge, An Act designating Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution. Fred Korematsu stood up in defiance of Japanese incarceration during WWII and his lawsuit went all the way to Supreme Court, which ruled against him.

Why are our energy bills so high?!?! What's driving up your energy bill isn't Mass Save or investments in renewable energy, utility companies are maximizing their profits by “gold-plating” infrastructure beyond what's truly needed.

Their work is vital to ensuring equity in our schools and yet they are often severely underpaid for their labor.
