Sorry, lovely people, but I'm not both-siding genAI. It's killing our planet, it's destroying people's lives and brains, it's enriching the already too rich. Yes, having conversations about it and educating people is important, but to me, that doesn't include acceptance or working with users.

What just happened in the Oval Office is the death knell of the pax americana. Europe, Canada, Australia, and Japan need to step up to save what's salvageable of the liberal order. Canada shares a 9,000 km border with the fastest-radicalizing bully in town. We either smarten up fast or we disappear.

“Deport them all”, “White lives matter”: messages on signs in St. Albert this weekend held by losers making N*zi salutes. Don’t minimize this, Alberta. Call this shit out. Every time you see it. That means our political leaders too. I’m looking at you, Danielle Smith.

It’s just bizarre how many people deny this statement. A US tariff is literally a tax on people in America who buy things made outside America. Words have meanings, and this is what a tariff is. Fume about that if you must.

It’s official. On Monday, when a whole lot was going on, the UCP quietly removed the ban on coal mining in the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies. The same ban put in place because you, Albertans, spoke out. We need you again. Coal is a threat to us all. A threat to our water. And water is life.
