Setting the monitor to a fixed refresh rate of 144Hz instead of the variable rate seems to have fixed the flickering part at least. Still had the burn in once in the past 3 weeks, but that's a lot better. 😅

I’ve been wanting to use @bunny.net Edge Scripts for a while now, and I finally got a pretty neat use case: a small AI endpoint for diu. It’ll be used as a fallback for suggesting todos based on a transcript when Apple Intelligence is not available.

The spark just isn't it. I initially chose it since everything related to motivation in the app is using a spark. What icon do you think of when speaking of motivation? I really like a flame, but that rather *screams* motivation instead of saying it gently, if that makes sense.

I’ve been thinking about how to organize todos for a bit. Last week a friend said she would love to colorize todos, so that she can easily scan for related todos and also filter by color. I love that idea. It’s super simple, but still super flexible. Feels like a good fit.

Spent some time debugging an issue where a SwiftUI-based app didn't properly propagate the AccentColor defined in the asset catalog. Turned out calling `UIFont.preferredFont(forTextStyle:)` in the App struct’s init method breaks the propagation. 👀 #iosdev

Today I spent some time playing around with some ideas for what the app icon could look like. I use the spark icon as a symbol for everything related to motivation, so I wanted the app icon to reflect that. I think I've created a dragon ball.

When I started working on my new app I just went with SwiftData. The more I read about it though, the less I want to keep it. SQLiteData by @pointfree.co seems to be a pretty good alternative. I've been wanting to try GRDB for a while now anyway and having that great wrapper for it is nice.

Good to see that SwiftData supports progressive migrations out of the box.

Having a lot of fun building the to-do list UI. After several refinements to make it simpler I realized that I got closer to the design of Things, which kind of makes sense. There's only so much you can do when you want to have everything inline and simple.

I think I've figured out how to work around this... Since luminanceToAlpha() creates fuzziness beyond the text, I added a mask modifier to cut off the fuzzy part. This gives me clear text again, while keeping the emojis translucent.

I'm trying to fix a bug where emojis in a Text within a tinted/clear widget basically become a opaque shape. First idea was to set widgetAccentable(false), didn't work, even if it's the root view. Then I've tested luminanceToAlpha() which makes everything fuzzy. Any hints someone? #iosdev

Back to Raycast after giving Spotlight another chance with Tahoe. Spotlight's gotten way better, but the clipboard manager sometimes just stops working. That's a dealbreaker for me, since I rely on that a lot. Also I really missed the fuzzy search and speed that Raycast comes with.

I wouldn't trust Expo for this claim alone. How would they know? 🙃

I'm a little confused: When building my app locally with Xcode 26 it has Liquid Glass. Distributing the app via Xcode Cloud, using Xcode 26, it doesn't have it. Someone else seeing this with Xcode Cloud? Did I miss something?

I have set up zoom transitions for items in a ScrollView, which leads to a view glitch when you dismiss the detail screen and quickly scroll while the dismiss transition is not yet finished. Probably happens due to changing frames, but no idea how to fix it. :( Anyone else? #iosdev
