I'm starting to feel a bit of “Liquid Glass fatigue". Everything just looks the same. I mean it's been this way before when devs stick to standard controls (which is a good thing!). I just feel like Liquid Glass emphasizes that because it's so... intense?

I initially thought of May 12 as a release date, but my gut says I should do it earlier. I’ve scratched the dictation feature anyway for the first version, since this needs careful testing and can totally be added later. Feels like shipping sooner matters more right now. So May 1 it is.

Found the reason for that. Meanwhile there are 7 puzzle games called Patches in the App Store. One is even game of the year, crazy that it achieved that after only 4 days in the store. :D

Apparently some AI app generator frequently suggests a puzzle game named Patches 😃 Wanted to check my apps (Patches) App Store page when I saw that several new apps with the same name spawned during the past week or so.

Dammit, it’s so much easier to continue polishing a not-so-important-for-this-week feature, than doing what's important for starting the TestFlight. 😭 I really got to focus on the onboarding now, but having a hard time to come up with visuals for the slides.

Yay, I was able to fix it by creating a small container view in UIKit 🥳 Whenever the tint is supposed to change, you can just slap a new tinted glass effect onto the effect view.

When you change the glass tint color of an interactive button that's currently pressed, it will lose the visual pressed state. ☹️ I wanted to build a press-and-hold control that would cancel the hold-action when leaving the button area. #iosdev

Setting the monitor to a fixed refresh rate of 144Hz instead of the variable rate seems to have fixed the flickering part at least. Still had the burn in once in the past 3 weeks, but that's a lot better. 😅

I’ve been wanting to use @bunny.net Edge Scripts for a while now, and I finally got a pretty neat use case: a small AI endpoint for diu. It’ll be used as a fallback for suggesting todos based on a transcript when Apple Intelligence is not available.

It's been a while since I last used this API, but I immediately remembered this drawing pinned to our office door. Turns out it was a great mnemonic after all! #iosdev
