Cameron Knowles appointed as newest permanent manager of #MNUFC, following Eric Ramsay's departure to West Brom

Cameron Knowles has officially been appointed as first team manager for #MNUFC. This comes just one day after Eric Ramsay’s departure. Knowles has spent almost 15 years with MLS clubs and has been with the Loons since 2021. As interim manager in 2024 he went 2-0-1 (W-L-D) before Ramsay’s arrival.

“Minnesota United is currently in the final stages of selecting its next head coach and will have more to share in the coming days.” Per #MNUFC ‘s press release on Ramsay’s departure

Congrats to Eric on the new position but this is rough for a rebuilding #MNUFC side. The question now is who do the Loons bring in as his replacement? Louisville City manager and former Loon Danny Cruz is an option and was considered for the job when Minnesota ultimately went with Ramsay.

Loons acquire goalkeeper Drake Callender 🗓️ from #CharlotteFC for $450,000 in GAM split over two years. Callender spent most of his senior career with Inter Miami and was traded to Charlotte last August. Due to injury he made only three appearances in 2025.

With their third rounds picks #MNUFC selected Aiden Bengard (67th overall) from Cal State-Fullerton (summer, Long Beach FC of UPSL) and goalkeeper Michael Mroz from University of Evansville (summer, Sueño FC of USL2) That rounds out the #MLSSuperDraft folks

With their second round pick the Loons have selected Princeton University forward Bardia Hormozi. The Maryland native helped lead Princeton to an Ivy League title during the 2025 season. #MNUFC | #MLSSuperDraft

#MNUFC selected forward Jaylinn Mitchell from Southern Methodist University as their first round pick. Mitchell played summer soccer with AMSG of USL2 and won the ACC title this fall with the Mustangs.
