#FoggyFriday This photograph was taken along the trail to Spray Falls in Mount Rainier National Park. The waterfall started disappearing from cloud cover shortly after we arrived. I had to stop along the trail to capture this group of trees, as the background was slowly engulfed by approaching fog.

Former jewelry assemblage artist here! De-stashing, mostly vintage bits, including uncirculated old stock. Starting on Black Friday, I’ll be giving these items away in exchange for a small donation to The Trevor Project.

I don’t believe there is a cause for autism any more than there is a cause for being left handed or having red hair. It is a natural variation of the brain and is only ‘othered’ because there are fewer people with the variation than not. But still, as below, I wouldn’t care if there were one.

I love this image. So often, we humans think of “nature” as something outside ourselves, something we aren’t really part of. We ARE part of it, and it’s part of us. We need to take care of it.

Also we inoculated these maple logs with shiitake mushroom spawn. With any luck, they’ll start producing in 12-18 months and will continue providing food for several years. Selling jewelry isn’t paying the bills these days, but mushrooms we can eat

You guys, I’ve had no luck conditioning my rawhide mallet. I’ve beat it on concrete corners, soaked it in warm water, filed, and even scored it with a utility knife to help break the shellac but it’s still hard as a rock and mars my metal. Anyone have any tips or success stories to share?
