Until last Autumn, we had around 60 ducks visiting our garden. They would turn up for breakfast and leave after supper. We provided a small pond, but they would return to the big lake 300 yards away. Before they vanished, a white duck appeared. He re-appeared a few weeks ago, with a dozen others...

Tip for cat owners in this heatwave. I keep a stock of Catit treats and water them down to make flavoured drinks. I went round our 12 cats earlier today and 9 of them had a long drink. We also keep 5 large bowls of fresh water all around the house, so they don't have to move if they are thirsty 🙂

Following an afternoon crawling on rock hard ground yesterday in pursuit of green tiger beetles, it seems I have popped two ribs. Hubby wants me to change from my current macro set up to a long lens. I prefer working just inches from my bugs, so the macro lens stays. Maybe I need a padded vest... 😄
