World’s greatest 90+ asset-trader strikes again. As a CK shareholder, it’s as juicy as selling ports, The Center, etc. (HK is done, move on.) As a consumer, a duopoly becomes a monopoly. Half the supermarkets in town consolidate/shut down. Is there a HK govt antitrust apparatus?

On April 15, 1935, Sgt. Gander was born in Newfoundland. He eventually became the mascot of the Royal Rifles of Canada and went with them to Hong Kong. At the Battle of Hong Kong in 1941, he gave his life to save his comrades and died a hero. This is his story. 🧵 1/10

If you're a regular consumer of Taiwanese news media, you've probably noticed how they cannot run a weather story without featuring photos creepily focused on some young woman just walking down the street in the sun or rain. I guess they're just using AI for that now, and it's still creepy as hell.

With the exception of people who convert basically to facilitate marrying somebody, adult converts definitely have A Reputation in the Catholic Church. This old tweet is being sarcastic, but there is a kernel of truth there 😎

Anybody doing SFP ONT/ONU for Netvigator in Hong Kong? Alternatively, HKBN or HGC? My provided ONT is only GBE and also a flaky POS which annoys me. I'd grab my own and go rogue but I'm not sure what they're doing for auth. /cc

Trying to track down this alleged letter from Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun to the White House. Doesn't appear in any Chinese official sources, and it seems to be fake. No clarification yet from Chinese authorities. First mention I can find is this post on X:

On this day in 1945, Canadian troops liberated 876 people from Camp Westerbork in the Netherlands. A transit camp, it was used as a staging area before the concentration camps. Anne Frank was in Westerbork in 1944 before she was sent to Auschwitz.

AKIYAMA Yutoku-taishi was an art prof who ran in the Tokyo Governorship election in 1975 against ISHIHARA Shintaro. Remembering how Ishihara ran Tokyo in his final years before retirement, I would've voted for him based on his excellent use of the bowler hat.
