The thing about chronic illness is that there’s never just one thing. There’s always multiple things. There’s always compounding things that cause other things or are common concurrent things. It’s always just and endless stream of things.

How do I make my nervous system more of a calm system?

Called lazy, a hypochondriac, whiny, etc as a child only to find out as an adult that I have hEDS and the fatigue, pain, etc all makes sense.

My chronic illnesses actively harm me but are a minor inconvenience to others. Some people act as if this is reversed.

One way to explain the lack of energy with chronic illness(es) is The Spoon Theory. But another way I could describe it is all the breaks I need. When I was healthier I didn’t need a break after: A phone call Writing a text/email Making a decision Taking a shower Eating a meal Getting dressed
