I loved Better Man. Yes, I loved the Robbie Williams CGI monkey movie. It's one of the best depictions of depression I have seen onscreen, and it is a wildly entertaining bit of fiction that contains some universal truths. It deserves more than some write-off about its box office.

This sucks. This absolutely sucks. I've got very few relationships to the gaming press these days since I've moved into a different career, but this especially feels like the end of an era. Vox was a great caretaker of Polygon, and the site will suffer with all of these layoffs.

I just had a talk with a student about the eras of gaming classics, and what they considered to be a classic. It's fascinating how we can have the same feelings about wildly different periods of our history, and I credit them with making cogent and thoughtful arguments different than mine.
