Happy Birthday to the N64! My dad said we couldn't get one because we had enough games, so I saved my allowance for two years and bought it for him for his birthday. Obviously, he couldn't say no. And no, it wasn't just to get around the rule. He always played games with us. Still does.

I see you, you squirrelly bastard! 😮‍💨 Usually, I fight with the squirrels and birds this time of year. They eat the 🌻. I just don't have the energy this time. You win, nature.

Decided to try that Animal Crossing expansion. Had this obnoxious, condescending cat jerk as a client, so I filled her house with toilets. She just keeps moving from toilet to toilet, reading and pooping. Cats are gross jerks. Don't worry; she loves her toilet-filled home.

Post a game that came out the year you were born. Ugh. When did I get so old? Also, I chose this gif specifically because I still struggle with the damn trampolines.

I got my COVID and flu shots today, and I took a Tylenol (for a headache), so I guess I'm some kind of autistic biological nightmare now, right?

I generally avoid politics on my TL for my own sanity, but I do NOT have my head in the sand about what's happening. That said...if you're in the US, for your own sake as much as everyone else's, get your vaccinations while you still can. Today's "briefing" was unhinged, offensive nonsense. 🤬

😱 New horror unlocked: Squeezed between the 🌻 to reach the blinds, and my hair landed on one of the 🌻, trapping a bee in my hair. It was angrily buzzing near my ear. Knocked it out of my hair (I touched it!). It was angry, but it didn't sting me. So...yeah. I had bee hair. How's your weekend?

I found it peculiar that this Starmie is hanging out by itself in a hotel. Later, a bellhop explained that Pokémon have been staying by themselves recently. So...Starmie walked in from the ocean, screamed "Staaahhh!" a bunch, and reserved a room? Not sure what to do with this information.

Just one of many fun details in a book overflowing with them.

Me, playing Life Force:

Grabbed some games from @longielong.bsky.social. I haven't played Bionic or Life Force since the early 2000s, and it shows. I made it to level three in Life Force, though. Those fire levels are the bane of my existence. Legacy is not for me, but my husband will enjoy it.

That was...a Nintendo Direct, I guess? Huh. Not even sure what to say about it, honestly.

Watching my husband play Pokemon Violet and wondering why my life can't be like this. The Sunflora scamper after you!

I decided to treat myself with something I've always wanted: an Ice Blue N64! It's beautiful! It does have a few blemishes and a little crack on the side, but much like me, it looks pretty good for its age! It makes me stupidly happy. Gonna give my old N64 to my sister.

A wild Psyduck appeared! He was easy to catch; he got stuck in an infinite tail whip loop. The name was a no-brainer. @lachlanh.me

Just some more 🌻. We're approaching the end of the season, but we'll probably have a few more blooms this month. The flower that hasn't bloomed is this year's tallest, at about 8 feet. I'm 6'4", and it's slightly above my outstretched arm. I'm over the heat, but not ready for our plants to die.

The company I freelanced for hired me two weeks ago. Last week was my first week as a full-time employee. In addition to benefits and a raise, I get paid holidays. Today was the first paid holiday I've had since I worked at Yahoo a decade ago. I did nothing today, and it was glorious.

@lachlanh.me Lach, my husband is playing Pokemon Violet and happened upon a migraine of Psyducks. One in particular followed him around while he was battling. He did catch one.

It's from my monitor's vent. The surge protector wasn't as close as I thought, so I pulled the monitor off the desk when I plugged it in. It landed upside down on my arm, causing the bruise, but I managed to catch it with my right hand. No damage done, aside from that bruise. I should dust...🙄

The hibiscus finally bloomed. The plant itself is huge, but the blooms keep dying before they even open. This might be the only flower we get this year.

I highly recommend Remnant Controllers for your N64 controller needs. I grabbed this Watermelon N64 controller the other day, and it feels incredible. The joystick is smooth as silk. It's a joy to use.

I'm glad I finally had the chance to tackle one of my white whales of gaming, and I enjoyed it, but I hope SFIII brings some new life to the series. CD often felt like a "Greatest Hits" compilation.

Another chocolate sunflower bloomed. This is a separate plant, so we've got two now. It also has multiple blooms growing on it. We might have one more, but I can't tell yet.

I shared so many photos of Link recently because he was sick; time was short. Everything happened so quickly. We said goodbye Monday. It's been four days, but it feels so much longer. He's home now. It still doesn't feel real. He was with us for 13 years. It's devastating. @dttrapo.bsky.social
