This should be the news coming out of Belfast today. The Finucane family have fought for years to get to this point & the inquiry opens with a UK Govt apology that will get lost in today's news. Pay attention to this - the past hasn't passed here, as days of unrest show:

Today is an incredibly important day for Pat Finucane's family, as a public inquiry into his murder finally begins. For over three decades, Mr Finucane’s family have campaigned for truth, justice and accountability. We hope the inquiry brings this a step closer.

Two-tier policing is real and ever-present. Black and Brown people experience it. Women experience it. Pro-Palestine and green protesters experience it. But the last people who would ever experience it are right-wing white men. They are the people with whom the police instinctively align.

I'm unconvinced by these reasons not to look at the OASAs. It's been 3 years since the "recent" OASA Review group reported. Also, surely the fact that the Gov committed to consider the OASA Review group reports and to retain the Special Criminal Court are reasons in favour of looking at the OASAs.
