On Monday, I had the honor to give grand rounds at @ucsfmac.bsky.social and present the work my group has been doing for many years. I was also officially appointed to the Edward and Pearl Fein Endowed Professorship in Precision Care for Memory Disorders. Incredibly honored and grateful!

It feels quite surreal to see my name on this list. Especially with many people I consider to be mentors (Gil Rabinovici and Bruce Miller of course but also @leatgrinberg.bsky.social, Bill Seeley, Adam Boxer…). Very grateful to all of them, and everyone from my lab and @ucsfmac.bsky.social 🙏🏻😊

Last week at the Human Amyloid Conference, I got the incredible surprise and honor to receive the Christopher Clark Award for my work on PET imaging in Alzheimer’s and related diseases. It means a lot coming from a field I literally grew up in. 🤓🥰🥳

Brain Imaging Setup: We measured the glucose metabolism throughout the functional connectome of the human brain (replication in three datasets using simultaneous PET/MR imaging). 1. Energy demand linearly scales with the degree of functional connectivity in individual brains.

Now that I’m supervising a few people, I think about this all the time. It’s very hard to find the right balance between trusting people and their work, and checking their work in detail. And of course there is the time constraint. 🤔😧
