Honoured to participate at my first #NATOsummit Leaders’ dinner. The presence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy sends a clear message - NATO stands with Ukraine. NATO membership continues to be the best security guarantee for Ukraine. And NATO needs Ukraine too – to make our Alliance stronger.

Estonia has over 100,000 reservists. Last year, nearly one in four took part in military exercises. But even the strongest need support. That is why we celebrate Reservists’ Week - to honor those who serve and those who stand behind them. Security is our shared responsibility.

Today is the Day for Protection of Children. In Europe, the biggest threat to their safety is Putin’s war. Russia has killed hundreds of Ukrainian children and forcibly deported dozens of thousands. We cannot give up our support. Children in Ukraine deserve a better tomorrow.

Russia is still not interested in peace - it only understands pressure and strength. The 18th EU sanctions package must be adopted without delay and hit where it hurts the most. Ukraine has the right to choose its future and Alliances. Russia has no say in this.

Estonia is ready to back Ukraine’s deterrence force with up to a company-sized unit, instructors, and staff officers, once it's formed. While NATO membership is the best security guarantee, the coalition of the willing must be ready to act. Ukraine's security is our security.

On average, Estonia will allocate 5.4% of our GDP to defence until 2029. 💪
