In Kyiv today with the leaders of NB8, Canada, Spain and the EU. Last three years, Ukraine has shown the world the true meaning of resilience. It’s only #UpToUkraine to decide the terms for peace. We believe in Ukraine's victory, but it requires action. We must speed up our support now.

To strengthen Ukraine's position Estonia is sending 10,000 artillery shells and 750,000 food packages for Ukrainian fighters. At the earliest opportunity, this will be supplemented with our own defence industry products worth over 100 million euros. It is #UpToUkraine to decide its future.

Europe must stay focused and act now to back president Zelenskyy against Putin. At today's meeting with heads of states, hosted by Emmanuel Macron, we saw that we have the tools – sanctions, tariffs, frozen assets - to keep up the maximum pressure. We will not give up and we will #StandWithUkraine

The political agreement on the 16th sanctions package for Russia is very much welcome. Russia has and continues to channel its resources towards annihilating #Ukraine. As long as Russia has not changed its course, the #EU will continue to raise the cost of war for it.

The EU is beefing up its subsea security. Today, we are taking steps to sanction saboteurs, deter adversaries and mobilise our military and civil capacities when needed. This includes boosting funding to safeguard critical infrastructure.

Peace through strength is a priority for NB8. Our countries rank among the highest both on military support to Ukraine and on defence spending. And we are willing to do more.

For a just and lasting peace, Russia must be pressured to negotiate – not Ukraine. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity needs to be safeguarded. NATO membership must stay on the table. Crucial time for Europe to show unity and strength.
