We committed, we delivered. The decisions taken by European leaders are a crucial contribution to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Because the only way to bring Russia to the negotiation table is to strengthen Ukraine.

We have a deal. Decision to provide 90 billion euros of support to Ukraine for 2026-27 approved. We committed, we delivered.

The EU has set itself an ambitious agenda - focused on security, competitiveness, and social cohesion. We need a long-term EU budget that gives us the means to achieve these ambitions. Time is of the essence to have the new budget up and running as of 2028.

Enlargement is the EU’s most important geostrategic investment in peace, security, stability, and prosperity. Today at EUCO, we discussed the way forward: both future Member States and our institutions must get ready for our Union to grow. This will make the EU stronger.

Peace is not cheap. It is priceless. Since the start of Russia’s aggression, the people of Ukraine have been paying the ultimate price for their freedom. Europe remains resolute in supporting them for as long as it takes. Dear President Zelenskyy, welcome back to the #EUCO.

As peace talks are ongoing, the EU remains ironclad in its support for Ukraine. Our financing proposals are on the table. The goal is a strong Ukraine, on the battlefield and at the negotiating table. We reaffirmed to President Zelenskyy that the EU remains steadfast and committed to its principles.

What I see is that there are so many people trying to undermine Europe. Why? Because the EU is strong. And we are working to make it even stronger. We have taken bold steps to build the Europe of defence and enhance our strategic autonomy.

Our history has taught us that there is no freedom of speech without freedom of information. And freedom of information exists where there is respect for pluralism. There will be no freedom of speech if citizens' freedom of information is sacrificed to defend some tech oligarchs.

Allies must act as allies. We must respect each other's sovereignty. Europeans do not share the same vision as the Americans on various issues. This is natural. What we cannot accept is the threat of interference in Europe’s democratic life.

A year after the fall of the Assad regime, Syrians are taking steps toward a more stable and inclusive future. The EU stands with Syria, supporting a peaceful, Syrian-led process focused on justice, reconciliation and the rights of all Syrians.
