In a joint letter 12 likeminded countries, including Estonia call on #G7 to take additional steps to reduce Russia's revenues from selling its energy carriers. 1/3 of Russia’s revenues & 2/3 of its exports are linked to energy carriers. With these revenues Russia funds its aggression in #Ukraine.

It was a pleasure meeting OPCW Director General Fernando Arias in the #Hague to discuss documenting the use of chemical weapons in #Ukraine. Investigations are essential to attribute the attacks committed in Ukraine, identify the perpetrators & hold them accountable.

While in the #Hague I met IntlCrimCourt's KarimKhanQC & President, Judge Tomoko Akane to discuss fighting impunity, Russia's accountability & investigation on the situation in #Ukraine. The ICC is an integral part of the rules based international order.

105 years ago, Tartu peace treaty was signed between Estonia & Soviet Russia. The keys to success in negotiations for🇪🇪 were a strong position on the battlefield, firm alliances & a strategic timing. It was a peace built on strength not concessions. A valuable lesson for today.
