We need to work with BigOil on the energy transition, because it's going to take a few decades for hydrocarbon demand to drop, renewables to rise, and the infrastructure to be rebuilt.

Great thread. My own experience, when I started career shifting into climate a few years back, was that a lot of folks wouldn't even talk to me because I'd worked at traditional tech companies and was therefore suspect.

I read the attached article and do not understand 1. What this JV is, and 2. How there is such a thing as a guaranteed return. Also Orlando Bravo is one of the smartest people in business, and if he passed..... Welp.

This. Also worth mentioning France, which is not mentioned here due to their mostly-nuclear and therefore deeply uneventful grid.....

Tons of this in tech right now. Personally I couldn't care less how old someone is, and never ask, but care deeply about cutting edge tech fluency and openness to new ways of working.

Yes. I spent over a decade in tech GTM, and 2 weeks ago saw an AI agent that I can honestly say is better than 80% of the AEs in the space. It costs less than a 3rd. The tech is still early and rapidly improving. Do with that what you will.

Now that everyone’s paying attention to global energy markets and effects of faraway events on prices and decision-making, is it a good time to talk about the indirect land use effects of dedicating cropland to biofuel production or nah?
