ICE deploy tear gas on crowded public street—because they were upset being stuck in Chicago traffic. A 2-year-old child required medical care after inhaling the chemical agents—adults were vomiting on the sidewalk. Local elementary school was forced to lock down for recess due the incident.

We left Austin (and UT) for personal reasons, not political ones. Republicans are simply lying about this, again. They are lying for a reason: 15 million people are going to lose health care because of the Republican tax law signed by Trump. Many millions more are going to see huge health care cost increases very soon thanks to Republicans.

Journalists and congressional staff have asked me what MPD officers think of the federalization shenanigans in DC. If you are reading this, you are an outlier in terms of civic attentiveness. 1/3rd of Americans didn't vote last election. Most officers don't care. Apathy is the slow death of the US.
