In 2026, a country of over 90 million people has been without internet access for almost 80 days, and to an extent for over 4 months, and it doesn't matter to any international organisation to issue even an empty condemnation.

⏳ The digital blackout in #Iran has just entered its twelfth week and is now in its 78th day. The internet shutdown, which has sent a country of 90 million largely offline for an unprecedented duration, continues to erode human rights, the economy and basic liberties at scale.

Day after day, I keep reposting these to remind myself and everyone else that a whole country of over 90 million people has had no access to something so overlooked in our daily lives for more than two months, and I still don't believe anyone, including me, can truly understand what it means.

I can't explain how it feels to save their pictures and post them here. People who look like those I know, who could be my friends and family, who are full of life, an innocent life taken from them to satisfy a bunch of bloodthirsty, sick old men who claim to be acting on God's behalf.

How deeply I wish that the next picture you see on my posts were of their murderers, brought to justice before the tens of thousands of grieving parents and friends. Or, at least, the news of them dying the most undignified and painful death, so they can join their God, and we can live.

At no point in the negotiations has the Iranian regime’s repression of the people been a factor. There can be no negotiation with the Islamic Republic on that; it’s an occupying force held together only by fear and violence. Death is the only thing those committed to the regime will ever deserve.

If we held a minute of silence for every victim of the Holocaust, we would be silent for eleven and a half years. On Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the 6 million Jewish lives that were stolen during the Nazi regime, along with millions of others.

While people are enthusiastically sharing IRGC propaganda in the form of Lego videos, Iranian people are 46 days into a complete internet shut down and the regime is still executing protesters. But sure, edgy lego videos I guess…

📨 At 1080 hours, #Iran's internet shutdown continues to harm lives and livelihoods as the country enters its 46th day without international access. Despite a slight widening of the whitelist system, Iranians have to take risks just to get a message through to the outside world.

Statistically, almost every Iranian (living in Iran, of course) you have seen on social media over these 45 days has likely been on this "whitelist", meaning they are pre-approved by the regime. We should be wary of this and careful when drawing conclusions about what's happening in Iran.

🗓️ Exactly six weeks ago on Saturday 28 February, #Iran fell victim to a regime-imposed internet blackout that remains in place after 1008 hours, now entering day 43. The censorship measure's harms grow daily, damaging livelihoods and violating Iranians' digital and human rights.

Hashd al-Shaabi —Iraqi militia funded by the regime— boasting that they’re in Tehran. They’ve been brought in to suppress and kill Iranians. Further proof: this regime is not of Iran. It is an imperialist force—an extension of the Arab Islamic conquest that overtook Iran in the 7th century.

This might be a good time to remember while IR’s war machine has been at least temp halted, its judicial/security apparatus hasn’t. If you’re a western and want to help, I strongly encourage you to reach your reps and represent the imprisoned and their families in Iran who’ve been robbed of a voice.

The internet blackout is costing tens of millions of dollars each day for the already crippling Iranian economy, leaving many people who directly or indirectly rely on it for their livelihoods with no income for weeks, amid still-rising prices and severe inflation.

Since the war began, millions haven't been able to receive critical life-threatening information, including evacuation notices. Many haven't had any income for more than six weeks. In no peace deals or calls for de-escalation is internet access a topic important enough to be mentioned.

No one seems to give a second thought to the fact that over 90 million people in Iran haven't had access to the internet for 42 days, already the longest shutdown in history. It's hardly mentioned at all. Free internet access is a fundamental human right.

I would urge a lot of people on here not to let their anger at Trump and/or Israel to lead to them uncritically sharing literal Iranian regime propaganda. "Fars/Press TV said xyz!" Yes, I'm sure the state news channels controlled by the Ayatollahs are giving you the unvarnished truth 🙄
