I'm seeing more and more instances of "we don't look at compiler output, so when LLMs generate code, we don't need to look at the output" LLMs are not compilers. With a compiler, you provide a highly detailed spec and know exactly what you are getting.

Thinking about configuration changes isn't optional. Imagine a website trying to prevent the browser window from being resized or breaking when it does. Android apps can't disable configuration changes and need to react to them correctly without losing state using the tools available.

Instead of a presentation, this year I'll be leading one of the roundtable discussions at Droidcon NYC! This is an open and collaborative conversation that anyone can participate in, discussing the current state of Jetpack Compose migrations in 2025, and the work still to be done. Come hang out!
