Underappreciated anthology TV: Amazing Stories episode 6, The Amazing Falsworth. Peter Hyams directs the hell out of this moody yarn that finds Gregory Hines as a nightclub psychic who senses a serial killer in the audience. I wish everything looked this good.

Absolutely obsessed with this commercial for CREEP PHONE, a 1-900 number from 1988 that swore up and down, for the cost of $2 per call, that you could talk to REAL GHOSTS AND ZOMBIES!!!!! The narrator on this is so wonderfully terrible. I adore this commercial

For day 280 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose the AMAZING Vampire, which premiered OTD in 1979. Richard Lynch plays a suave bloodsucker who meets his match when he goes up against two novice vampire hunters (Jason Miller, E.G. Marshall)

What struck me most this viewing was that itâs as loquacious as it is visually striking. Truly a film made by a pair of writers, with its voice over narration, journal entries being read aloud, and wordy monologues. Also, Michael Greer kept making me think of porn actor/director Paul Thomas.

Day 3 POSSESSED 2 (1984), David Lai A detective & his family move into an apartment with a palatial cemetery view & let me tell you it's a real bargain if you don't mind hedonistic dog meat grubbing ghosts who enjoy murder, spanking each other & possessing your wife & child.

Nothing can top the James Bridges penned, Alfred Hitchcock Hour adaptation of Bradburyâs The Jar, but I do love the NY art scene remake from the 80s Hitch revival series.

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

This TV movie was originally the pilot for Momma the Detective, Larry Cohenâs attempt at making Esther Rolle the next Columbo. An absolute crime that never happened, but at least we have See China and Die.
