There is an idea of a Gavin Newsom, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real governor. Only an entity, something illusory, and though he can hide his cold gaze and you can shake his hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe even sense your lifestyles are comparable: He simply is not there.

I remember how excited I was doing the first of these four years ago and wow, it's incredible that I still get to read such cool work ahead of its release. Definitely the part I'll miss most from this.

One of my favorite things is when I'm getting in the zone writing wise and I can just kind of flow. One of my least favorite things is when it gets interrupted and I lose the train of thought.
