Marvel Snap When you have to admit it’s a really good variant even though you can’t stand the card (although SD missed a golden opportunity to label it “Pasqueal Ferrara”).

Several variants here are either Sensational quality in the Collector’s Vault (2,000 gold) or former spotlight variants (3,500 tokens). Getting them in this set is a nice discount if you have a token surplus.

For the most part I dislike the new “finishes and flares” that SD added to card customization. But once in a while, one really works. The “Water” background on the new Namora is pretty spectacular.

Comics! This omnibus edition of Gail Simone’s Birds of Prey is terrific. The binding seems solid, the interior pages are very good quality with nice gloss and vivid colors. The lettering is crisp and clear. Just nicely made. This book collects Birds of Prey #56-90 and Secret Files 2003 #1.

Bizarre. Absurd. Parts were delightful, others were somewhat too abstract for my taste (the promotional description uses the term “Dadaesque,” which seems about right). At its best it reminded me of some of the works of Charles de Lint, showing a fantastic city by depicting its weirder inhabitants.

Marvel Snap I like that the shop’s “Dark Fantasy” pack includes previous Season Pass cards. I haven’t seen some of these cards played in a long time. It’s nice to have new opportunities to acquire older art, and I hope SD continues to do this.

Love the new Magik! I’m not ever going to complain about getting another Peach Momoko variant.

The new Green Goblin Venomized variant by Francesco Mattina is wonderfully creepy, a good fit for the Halloween season. For me, the Goblins are all about chaos and fiery explosions, and it’s hard to beat the feeling of Nikola Čižmešija’s versions. Green Goblin is from The Gang’s All Here album.

It’s been a good week for variants! I don’t play Nebula as much now, but it was a big part of my first meta-relevant deck, High Evolutionary back in the Leech days. The Momoko variant has been in the data mines forever, so glad to see it released. The Rodriguez spotlight variant is still great.

Done with Sanctum! Got it done using this Sauron deck by @scosco.bsky.social. He always has great ideas for starting out events. The meta’s evolving quickly and I might have needed some changes if I were playing longer. I bought the event pass, didn’t have to buy scrolls.

The Brothers Sinister collection is great historical romance, a lot of fun to read. Courtney Milan writes historical romance very well, and I’m looking forward to starting her Wedgeford Trials series.

Very nice Enchantress by Chuma Hill. I’ve been waiting for one that worked with purple krackle.

Marvel Snap Sanctum is still a fun game mode. TVA shouldn’t be a location in it. It’s a real “feels bad” way to lose a scroll.
