I spent an hour yesterday thinking I had a massive bug in my code cause when an option was true its tooltip kept disappearing. I refactored my code 3 times and started digging into all related code I wrote the option twice on the page. My code removes duplicate choices already to prevent confusion

Just fixed up my game's choice buttons so there are dynamic labels and tooltips based on your progression! So you might see a greyed-out unavailable action called "???" with a tooltip "You need to get to know Taw better first." but when you unlock that action, it updates to "Smooch that bat"

I keep surprising myself by figuring out how to do neat little things with code. I still have to look up things a ton and forget the names of stuff constantly but I'm slowly getting better. I just have constant imposter syndrome even with thousands of lines of written code in the past year alone.

I'm curious about the steam frame since my biggest issue is my vr setup struggles to track me cause I can't put my base stations in any good spots so I blow up in vr randomly and drift away And my left controller has like 20% of the battery life of my right controller for some reason lol

Tailraise has been migrated to a new host and there should be no disruption or downtime for anyone, nor should you lose your save files! The new host is significantly faster for speeds and serving files. I might migrate its location later, but for now it seems solid.

Gotta do some VPS migrations this weekend. Hope it won't be a pain lol

I'm really proud I managed to make this save file conversion work so well. When you load a game save, it checks the version of it. If it's outdated, it runs the migration to move to the new quest system. This copies your progress over to the new systems perfectly. All in less than a second.

built myself a little tool to test save files or load saves quickly in editor to debug also the save file conversion script works flawlessly, just need to map the old data to the new quest system so no one loses progress also some other save file tweaks for future stuff

I'm so tired from putting insulation up all day. Gotta prep the house for winter though

the quest tracker is working! this now automatically pulls and fills out based on your current quest progress and provides a hint on whatever you have to do next automatically (no hint if you've completed the quest of course) It's looking real nice and works great :3

Very disappointed in a few folk today. Heavily deriving art from someone's work, who is uncomfortable with you doing so and using it, then ignoring their request to stop using it, is terrible. Mocking and making light of the situation in front of your audience is even worse. Do better.

Quest redesign for Tailraise is coming along. Got the template built for new quests and porting them slowly into it. Then I need to build all the quest tracking and setting functionality. Then hook all the old content to the new systems. Then make a save file conversion system
