that makes no sense at all and will look hopelessly naive, exploitative, or both after the bubble bursts. i'm over here happily doing everything by hand. learning to do things yourself imbues everything with a personal touch and is so enriching. why cheat your employees out of that?

I've been using Rust for a little over a year now. When I look at my early code, a lot of it is really C/C++, but with Rust syntax. So I'm now rewriting the input/event handler for Siren. The resulting code is leaner, more efficient, and more idiomatic. π¦

Alone In The Dark (1992) by Infogrames It was such a unique game at the time it launched. Needless to say my young self didnβt understand what I was supposed to do, but I loved the simplicity and the mood of the game. Spend hours exploring the manor and dying.

Just "upgraded" to Windows 11 and I can no longer dock my taskbar vertically on the side of the screen... a basic feature since Win95. (maybe earlier?)
