If you have ANY correspondence with the company (beyond the “Dear Author” letters we all got) in 2024 about nonpayment or about the company’s financial stability, could I see it? I’m opening my DMs for this (don’t make me regret that)

To be clear, I left Unbound 5 years ago. I was there for two short years and in that time there were 3 rounds of redundancies. They have had problems for a long time and are absolute c*nts for not fixing it sooner.

I used to work at Unbound and watching their collapse has been so frustrating because it was utterly avoidable. Had they chosen to run it like a business, scale properly and adjust their model with market changes, instead of chasing investment for pie-in-the-sky projects like “bestseller predictors”

Ignoring the obvious (Artex, we still miss you) and the other obvious (Skesis, amirite?!) my childhood trauma movie was The Last Unicorn. Adored it but the red bull was utterly terrifying. The book is beautiful.

I’m having such fun with chapter titles for this book. Truly leaning into the most poetic, silly aspects of the western genre. #writing

Playing hangman with a 5 year old really shows the inconsistency of the English language and the limitations of phonics. Todays gems included CAYC and ERPLAYNS

Turns out all the words I wrote this morning during #5amWritersClub were not the right words and took the story in the wrong direction. Two steps forward, one back. #writing
