Two weeks after President Donald Trump admitted that he knew his golf course was where Jeffrey Epstein groomed teenagers, his administration announced that it now wants to lower the age at which people are considered adults.

The IRS’ limitations have no bearing on Wyden’s investigation, which is compiling more evidence to justify an audit into Epstein’s finances. But access to necessary documents has been revoked by the Trump administration, and Senate Republicans have refused to issue a subpoena to obtain them.

The Trump administration has attempted a number of tactics to hide the government’s investigation of Epstein from the public, including lying about its existence, pretending to release the files, blaming previous administrations, berating voters, and closing the investigation completely.

Because the suit is filed as a class action, it’s eligible for a universal injunction, meaning a judge can order the Trump administration to pause the questionable practice nationwide while it is litigated in court.

Comey’s removal comes as Trump faces accusations of protecting the clients of Epstein, who died in prison while awaiting trial for allegedly facilitating sex with minors for his rich and powerful associates. Comey was a chief prosecutor in Epstein’s case; Trump was one of his known associates.

Using his power to limit their speech isn’t technically a violation of the First Amendment — since they gave in voluntarily — but as the ground around free speech is ceded — by traditional and conservative media alike — the less Trump will need to abuse his power to silence dissent.

This week’s vote to cut $500 million would escalate beyond closing small, rural stations, according to Project 2025. Once stations run out of money, it outlines how Trump could take control of those stations’ call signs and frequencies, then fill the airwaves with programming biased towards Trump.

The roadmap has been drawn with Kari Lake’s takeover of VOA. The outlet’s pro-democracy reporting has been replaced with pro-Trump stories from OAN. But, far from identifying this as an assault on the free press, the newsrooms directly affected portray the vote in the most placating terms possible.

Bove gained notoriety recently for obstructing justice at the Justice Department, where he told attorneys they should be prepared to “say f*ck you to the courts” that got in the way of the Trump admin. But there is so much more to Bove’s resume than firing anyone who refused to defy court orders.

The Epstein Files aren’t the only records the Trump administration is going to great lengths to keep hidden from the public. In an interview with @frost.house.gov, he revealed that the internment camp set up in the Everglades doesn’t file charges against detainees with state or federal courts.

Reuveni, a 15-year employee of the DOJ, becomes noticeably disillusioned as the correspondence progresses, and was fired for going against Emil Bove’s orders to lie to the judge. One month after firing Reuveni, Trump nominated Bove for a lifetime appointment as a federal appeals court judge.

The most recent anti-Trump protests held this year consistently attracted ~5 million people, suggesting this could be their attendance ceiling. But there’s one way that could change: by making the next nationwide protest on July 17 about Epstein.

Most of those being detained are ambushed while on their way to immigration court, which they have been ordered to attend. Some have been apprehended by mistake and detained anyway, and are given no explanation as to why they have been arrested, what their rights are, or how long they’ll be held.

While the horse race journalism encourages voters to sit back and watch the show and cartoon Trump waves out the drive-thru window, far-right outlets are working overtime to convince the public that this budget is for the people and Trump is their unstoppable champion. But that’s not the case.

The authoritarian allowance allotted to Trump by the sluggish pace of the courts shares similarities to the cases of immigrants like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was left for months in a Salvadoran mega-prison while Trump’s attorneys stalled with impunity.

The plan involves dismissing any legal proceedings involving an immigrant to take them out of the judicial system. With no pending case, ICE can execute expedited deportations without the threat of having to return them so they can have their day in court, as was the case with Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Opposition to the Trump admin continues to grow as he implements his deeply unpopular policies. Voters don’t want the military deployed against civilians, are unhappy with mass deportations, oppose going to war, and aren't finding the economic relief Trump promised on the campaign trail.

In addition to violating the First Amendment, the lawsuit says DHS’ wide net when it comes to who they detain and arrest violates the Fourth Amendment, and ignoring the right to due process — a staple of the Trump administration — is a clear violation of the Fifth Amendment.

It’s not going to be a series of congressional hearings over the course of several years that convinces more and more of the public to support war, it’s going to be an onslaught of TikToks over the course of a few weeks.
