Yeah as pretty much everyone (here) says it’s a poor piece. Sure… prioritise economic growth…I agree…but the how and the what of that is absent.

Wait — doesn't the UK suck now as a listing venue? It's place has diminished, but there's so much to being an international finl centre than being a major listing venue. UK is global leader in FX trading, intl banking, rates derivative trading, intl bond issuance etc. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

It occurs to me that the reason why Brits are so prone to sarcasm, snark etc, is that if we took everything seriously (perhaps duly seriously) it would all be too upsetting.

Anyone recommend a bar in Paris where I can take beloved niece to watch the football on July 6th.* * Her requirements are ‘beer’ and ‘frites’. cc

I don't mean to excite anyone, but I started writing down all my thoughts about the Paris Metro and 1,500 words in realised I still had so much to say I'd make it a miniseries, and this is just part one. Don't say I do nothing for you

On what planet would you want a cabinet reflecting stability of personnel when the PM who appointed that Cabinet has just been defenestrated for gross incompetency.

💯 I do not believe in the new leader ‘bounce’ but given Burnham’s popularity and Reform’s fragility / negative momentum, Labour should be aiming for *at least* polling parity.

*PUPDATE* Little B is off this afternoon to a home stay in Normandy (with aircon). He’s been there before and had a great time. It has huge grounds, rivers and other dogs — what more could a puppy want. We’ll miss him though.

Another good day for Andy Burnham: the last remotely plausible 'could this guy get 81 disparate MPs to sign up for a ridiculous leadership election' says 'what a ridiculous idea', and more importantly, Burnham's new chief of staff appointment further reassures Burnham-sceptical MPs:

You can buy rolls of foil-backed plastic insulation in the DIY shops. I wrapped the exhaust tube & secured it with gaffer tape to minimise the amount of heat escaping through the tube. I also constructed a window pane out of acrylic sheet & cut a round hole for the tube so the window stays sealed.
