I don't know what the future holds for Syria - their liberators include some extraordinarily questionable groups who claim to have reformed - we will see. But tonight many Syrians are resting better than they have their entire lives, and many wake only to continue dreaming about what is possible.

Remember: We are going to learn a lot of things we don't like in the upcoming weeks. We shouldn't ignore the reality around us, but we can't get sucked into the negativity, hysteria and despair, either. Check in on each other. Support each other. When possible, promote action. #StrongerTogether

Thank you! It has been disappointing to see the celebration of death march across my screen (TikTok has been really bad about this.) It’s one thing to be apathetic, but can we agree to rise above making jokes about a man being murdered?

Realistically, this doesn’t apply in all situations. There is such a thing as righteous anger. But whenever practical, it should be applied. I’ve gotten away from this. Twitter was a noisy place, and it wasn’t until I came here that I realized how much I was shouting.

I don’t know what your family is like, but in my house ANY sized bag is an individual portion if the salsa is good.

Having vetted and followed a lot of accounts recently, it is interesting to note how many of us have chosen nature photos as background pictures. We should organize some sort of BlueSky weekend to visit nearby state and national parks or hit the hiking trails this summer.

I don’t mean to rain on MAGA’s parade (actually, I do), but they have apparently forgotten that - in their own words - the people who came over to this app control the weather. That’s why this place is called “BlueSky.” And when it comes to storms, X marks the spot.

You all know what to do. Please show them the kindness that you would want.

I just went to clearsky.app for the first time today. Currently blocked by 60 people - some were surprising. The lists were really surprising. I’m on 2 block lists, but I’m also included in dozens of good lists and starter packs. Thank you - It was really humbling (and gratifying) to see this.

If you need a good laugh, @conormcl2025.bsky.social usually has some shenanigans going on somewhere. He’s also been known to boost accounts from time to time.

I saw a post once that (roughly) said, “These cabinet nominations make a lot of sense if you view it from the perspective that their mission is to dismantle the government.” I didn’t sleep well that night.

In 2020 we stayed home because Trump mismanaged a pandemic. Why will we stay home in 2025? a. Tariffs have made everything too expensive. b. It’s not worth running into former friends and Trump supporters. c. BlueSky is more enjoyable than seeing people in real life. d. All of the above.

I really like how a bunch of rich guys in the U.S. hire undocumented minority workers at subpar wages, collect record profits, and then somehow convince others that the undocumented workers are the reason their wages are being suppressed.

We have to be prepared to counter the “Biden Hangover” lie: Trump is already announcing policy, and this is hurting the U.S. economy. This is not a normal transition, and we can’t let them claim the immediate consequences of Trump’s policy are simply economic reverb from the Biden administration.

One thing I am using, and would like to encourage the use of, is the "Hide reply for everyone" option. When I see MAGA trolls, I'm just hiding the reply from everyone and sending them to the block party. Fire needs oxygen to burn. Don't give it to them.

I enjoyed my family, but I spent a good portion of Thanksgiving scrolling through pictures on my phone and deleting the unnecessary ones (screenshots of gift ideas, store items with prices, bad photos I never deleted, etc.) Looking at the photos reminded me that I have much to be Thankful for.

I know the job will be harder. I know it feels impossible. But we can still do good. Harris and Walz brought out the best in us; they inspired hope and joy and unity: these didn’t die with the election. It’s up to us now. And if we work as one, I like our chances. #ForeverBlue #StrongerTogether
