followers i haven't followed back yet, there are more of you than i'm used to and i'm a bit overwhelmed (i'm easily overwhelmed). it's not personal and i generally do follow back if we interact, but if i don't do it right away, i tend to forget. i appreciate you all (except the musk impersonators).

Having one AI hallucination in a work is kind of like having one human finger in your chili. Even if you take it out, the existence of it is evidence that you're doing the entire process wrong.

let me take this opportunity to rant about that movie from 2021 that was supposedly set in 1994 but showed CALIBRI as a font menu option in windows (calibri was designed in 2002-2004 and released in 2006, it did not exist in 1994).

i love when users try to convince us we should add a feature they want, and they always insist it would not be a big task at all. today we had one claiming it'd be super easy to add a feature that would involve translating 42 million words. which would only take one translator's entire adult life.

team meeting at work today about what we've learned in the last year. and i didn't even have to bring it up, everybody agreed the last year taught us we can't trust ai to get anything right, it keeps screwing up even the most basic tasks and all our worst fuckups in 2025 were caused by trusting ai.

it's not at all universal, but also not uncommon, that when the pope visits, the entire population of a country gets at least one public holiday, sometimes more. i've never heard of that happening when trump visited any country at all.

after killing the previous pope, the iran negotiatons, and orban's re-election chances, i'm starting to wonder if jd vance's influence is why trump is transforming into a zombie in front of our eyes. does anyone know if charlie kirk had been hanging out with jd recently?

i've just realized what those ai chatbots remind me of and why they disgust me so much: people when they're high on coke and think they're f*cking awesome and slick af, when they're really just bullshitting and obnoxious af and have no awareness of how repulsive they're really being.

But as I said, those who think they are clever tend to make excellent targets for intelligence operations. Because their ego blinds them. They think THEY are too clever to fall for manipulation and propaganda. And they can invent very creative explanations to convince themselves.

if a position of authority can be misused in this way, that position of authority should not exist. It's clearly not enough to simply change who is in that position, no more than praying that the next king be better than the last.

one time someone at work tried to translate "ascension day" from farsi and it turned into "elevator day" in english and what i'm trying to say is you can't trust machine translation in general, and chatgpt translation is even worse because it randomly adds and skips really important bits of text.
