Ive been a bit tight lipped about my flight school progress, but today I’m allowing myself to be proud of what I’ve accomplished to date. As of this past Monday, I am officially the holder of a commercial Pilot certificate with an instrument rating. I feel very very cool right now.

Finished Metroid Prime 4. I enjoyed it a lot. Excellent game. With regard to the common bugbears, I found the desert section weirdly zen like sailing in Windwaker and I actually liked the NPCs. I do have a few frustrations, but they're in no way dealbreakers. Def a top 2025 game for me.

At the last boss of Prime 4. I have 100% items and 99% of the scans because I somehow MISSED THE FIRST SCAN IN THE GAME HOW DID I DO THAT I SPENT THE ENTIRE INTRO STAGE IN SCAN VISOR TO AVOID THIS VERY THING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

1000% hate how I cannot get my hands on 80s JPop and JJazz CDs for less than a kidney right now because of these asinine tariffs, and the few US retailers who have them lying around have all raised their prices accordingly because they know we have no other choice than to pay inflated prices.

If you had told 2015 me that in 2025 I would have gone to streaming audio and then gone BACK to ripping CDs using an old optical drive in an enclosure, I would have been very confused, but here we are.

Watching Fuwamoco play Fatal Frame 2 and all these years later that game and its main antagonist still haunt me. Seeing that one cutscene again still made my blood run ice cold. I don't think I've ever played another game that so thoroughly petrified me and gave me actual nightmares.

Today Umamusume gave me the 100 careers completed achievement. I still have not managed to get a single 3-star spark. Not sure if this is common or particularly unlucky and honestly I couldn’t say which of those two would be worse.

One major perk to my mood improving this month (and finally getting an ereader) has been getting back into reading. My love of historical naval fiction is still strong, but the big surprise has been getting sucked in hard by The Shining. One of the best books I've read in a long long time.
