DAILY DRAFT #2 www.17lands.com/draft/f7f133... Today's draft starts out with a good removal spell in Nameless Inversion and I immediately set out down a weird path with Darkness Descends. I've heard rumors that there's a nice Descend deck but I don't think I assembled it properly.

PAUL'S DAILY DRAFT I went 1-5 in draft at #PTECL after registering maybe the best standard deck in the history of the Pro Tour. If I'm going to keep trying to win at the top level I have no choice but to really do everything I can to finally get good at limited.

Does anyone know the last time a PT constructed deck with 10+ people had a winrate anywhere close to 69.3%?

10-6 at #PTECL with the CRAB Lost playing for the 10-0 in constructed (please do not point out what this implies about my limited record) It's kinda nice to actually get to break it, maybe next time I'll win this thing

I don't really buy the zero sum comp/casual nonsense; the words written in the text boxes these days are completely fine. Magic isn't worse because of Commander, it's worse because there are twice as many cards and they all cost twice as much and half of them are a shitty reference to a TV show.

Nah man a big part of why the UB stuff makes me sad is cause I know it's extremely popular so they're going to keep doing it despite it making the parts of the game I deeply care about worse. Like I know a bunch of people are going to buy the 6th marvel set but that doesn't make my FNM fire.

Respectfully I think something that your argument and many like it miss is that zero sum or not: The "soul" of the game that we so love is being eroded Even if UB works out AND we get a competitive scene again as part of the result, a lot of the "magic" is lost
