The excitement of the win is sinking in (I feel honored). Here are some stage photos one of my judges (Cottonmouth Cosplay) kindly shared - I really need to get some video footage of Shar in action, but it looks like I achieved the effect I was aiming for! Having trouble finding tags unfortunately.

Winning best advanced craftsmanship at AwesomeCon this weekend is still sinking in… but in the meantime I was thrilled to have several people recognize me as Akasha! It seems I really did do The Queen of the Damned, my inspiration, the justice and hommage I hoped.

Well, Shar is ready for AwesomeCon this weekend (save additional pressing and steaming). I am not. Between the layoff and personal things, every little thing I do has been exceptionally hard, and exhausting.

This weekend I need to finish sleeves and add a bunch of spots to a costume. Then it should be wearable.

Finally managed to generate a pair of wings I don’t hate!

After an attack by a door handle, visible mending on one of my work shirts adds lovely texture and personality. In retrospect, I also find the patches a fitting addition to my Iris von Everec costume… I’m looking forward to wearing her again!

Sometimes cats, sometimes… something else. But they have embraced the new apartment quite nicely!

Last thing completed of 2024 turned out surprisingly cute! First thing of 2025 will be moving and I am excited to set up an improved craft area!
