Artwork used internally at DIC Entertainment during the production of the Super Mario World cartoon, replacing Marge Simpson with Mario. According to a former DIC employee, this was made due to an inside joke at the studio, though the exact nature of the joke has been lost.

I have...so many Pokémon. Literally thousands of them. 1-1025 in Pokédex order, + every Forme, several more "Living Pokédex"es sitting in *each game* on Switch, another set of 1-721 sitting in 3DS Pokémon Bank, a 1-251 Game Boy set, every Colosseum/XD 'mon, & more. *I* can't keep track of 'em all.

Maybe a controversial take, but: Super Mario Galaxy is far from perfect, and one of its blemishes are the fricking Purple Coin missions of the "postgame." I'm very good at them after nearly twenty years, but that *doesn't* make them fun. 🫣

It's been years since I was in the press, but I feel like I could still write a weekly Pokémon feature with a cool ~750 words for fun. I miss this era of Pokémon specifically, when your Pokémon played on a ranch instead of collecting dust at HOME. Spin-offs and "storage games" felt more meaningful.

I decided to muck about in Mario Galaxy 2 for a few minutes—mostly to see if I could get it to resend the congratulatory message & image for beating “The Perfect Run” & truly 100%ing the game. Alas, my Wii Message Board posts are LONG gone. …I think parts of THIS GAME would make Silksong blush. 😜

I've been playing various Mario games all day. Chipping my way through "Luigi Galaxy", started Mario 64 until I died at Jolly Roger Bay with 98 coins, and more. But I'm ending the night by doing some of the Challenge Mode stuff in SMB Deluxe. Controversial take?? But this is a dang good video game.

Starting with Sword & Shield, you could always bring Pokémon backwards AND forwards to Pokémon HOME. My cherished critters from 2005 have been to & from many games on Switch. They literally designed a system to future-proof stuff that we pay $14.99 a year for. ...And now Legends ZA contradicts it.

It's an icky thing all by itself that TPCi is locking brand new Mega Evolutions behind paying for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. ...but to further gate them behind *engaging with and ranking up in* competitive play for the new game?? That's icky EVOLVED; that's Ickymeleon or Ickyzard.

In early 2021, I decided to play the 2D Metroid games for the first time—and we got Metroid Dread in October. January of this year? 101%ed Donkey Kong 64. DK Bananza is released six months later. Y'all know I've been hyper-fixated on Mega Man lately. Time for 12? X9? Legends Legacy Collection?? 😎

good morning. Some pharmacies in Florida now require a prescription to get the latest COVID vaccine. I just contacted my PCP to obtain said prescription—only to be told to contact the Health Department cuz THEY'RE not sure what regulations to follow & can't proceed. THIS IS GREAT I LOVE IT HERE!!

Numbered console generations were made up by a random Wikipedia user in 2004 in an attempt to standardize the "__ era game console" articles, and nobody ever corrected it. It's nonsense that no actual historian uses and you have permission to ignore it

I was today years old when I learned that Mega Man 10 has Special Stages initially released as DLC on Wii—that feature the Mega Man Killers from *the Game Boy games I've been playing.* If you beat their stages in one go, you can use their weapons in the main story. After much toiling, I persevered!

In the four years I've been at IGN I've watched its staff shrink and shrink, all while those who remain are asked to do more and more. I see colleagues skip lunch, stay late day after day, and burn out. IGN staff are passionate and love their work. But we can't keep letting that be exploited.
