This Deep Space Nine rewatch is kind different from the first time. The beginning of the show was somewhat better than I remember and some seasons were somewhat worse than I remember. Some episodes that people really liked I just completely skipped this time around such as "Far Beyond the Stars"

Finally watching this last Mission Impossible movie and it's a mess. So much exposition and flashbacks and just really dumb writing. It's like they wrote themselves into a corner and didn't know how to get out so this is the end result.

Rewatching Alien Romulus just reminded me of how shitty that movie treats the only Black character in it.

This ain't it. This country has run on identity since it's inception and it hasn't stopped. And guess what? Identity controls the quality of the health care and other services you receive.

I've been hearing about rotating villain theory since the Obama years and it never has any evidence backing it up and the simplest answer is that in a pool of 40+ senators, some people are bound to disagree with others and vote accordingly.

There's a type of white person that hates minorities in the same way their conservative parents do because they aren't pure enough and won't vote for progressive policies like they want them to. This leads to them searching for minorities with smaller and smaller voices that they can speak for.

The replies to this show that this is a thought exercise to a lot of people. They want people to resist as long as they don't have to go through any extreme hardship of their own. Was it the best option? Probably not, but a lot of y'all would rather other people starve to prove a point.

All of these Republican Speakers of the House seem to be terrified of their constituency. I remember Boehner when he basically said that he had enough.

I don't think Republicans really thought this through. This is a great way to lose a lot of support, even from their own side.

The new deal excluded Black people and when they weren't excluded gave them lower pay or segregated them and gave them the jobs that White people did not want. That's not even getting into redlining. Black people were largely excluded from the post war prosperity that White people enjoyed.

People saw what Twitter became. I am of the opinion that it is good that everyone should not have to interact with everyone else if they don't want to. People have much better things to do with their time than sift through posts from chronic shit posters and people posting obvious misinformation.
