Administration came on the announcements at the school I teach at and told the students that if they walk out in protest over current events, one of the consequences will be a permanent mark on their records keeping them from various opportunities after HS. I have to teach about this one day.

Black History Month is a time to recognize the lived, shared experience of all Black folks who have fundamentally shaped, challenged, and ultimately strengthened America. It’s about taking an unvarnished look at the past so that we can create a better future.

Because they believe they can do it better and get away with it.
