Enjoying Silent Hill F, minus these weapons breaking and the fact that I don't know how to pronounce Japanese words in the slightest. Also, are they going to tell me what the F stands for? Should they just get the F out?

CBS pulled the 60 Minutes CECOT segment, but Canada aired it anyway. The segment was streaming via Global TV and YouTube (since taken down). Having a VPN set to Canada helped. 🇨🇦 My take, there is no reason we shouldn’t see this. Most of it was known information, easily searchable. 1/5

Made the mistake of watching some Christmas movies. I knew better. First was Christmas Every Day (1996), which is Groundhog Day, but Christmas, and a kid who doesn’t learn quickly from repeating events. It starts fine, but fizzles hard. The main character is Sid from Toy Story.

I recently read the novelization of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, by Jerome Preisler. I wasn't expecting much, but had heard the text expands some scenes, offers a slightly different death for Johnny Cage, and part of me was curious if it could help this black sheep of a beloved franchise.

For movies, I went high-brow and rewatched Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998), a made-for-TV movie starring David Hasselhoff and written by the guy who did the Blade films. If that doesn't sell you, just skip this one. It's so cheesy and fun, for mostly the wrong reasons.

Finished Final Fantasy IX last night. Had to cheat a little bit with that final boss, but enjoyed the experience. Like most FF games, it feels like the narrative went a bit too far with the story for the conclusion and should have pulled back a little, nothing too bad though.

For recent movies, I started with a strange one, no surprise since it stars Nick Cage. The Surfer (2024) is an odd psychological and psychedelic story about a broken man who returns to his hometown wanting to surf with his son, but the beach has bullies. It didn't go as expected.
