Missed opportunity.

Spending less and less time on socials these days. Bluesky, Discord…everything. Nothing’s wrong. Everything’s fine. Just not a priority like it used to be. Time passes, things evolve, and sometimes that’s enough. Hope you’re well, friends.

Fired up the Wii U this morning, just to confirm it still worked. And, YES! It does. I've read horror stories of Wii U's kinda kickin' the bucket if they've been powered off for awhile. That was definitely the case with mine. Anyways, I started looking through the library, and a couple of thoughts:

Shelving Tales of Symphonia. Not as grabbing as I’d hoped and the gameplay isn’t enjoyable. Not for me, anyways. I’ve been frozen in indecision. So going back to the gaming roots. Going to start A Link to the Past today and we’ll see where it goes. #SNES

I really should try and play more RE games. Outside of the first two, I've never really played many others in the franchise.

I did this, got fired, and now I'm unemployed. But I DID have a swell time with NFL Blitz, so at least there's that. 🏈🎮

I’ve spent a lot of time lately thinking about video games. Admiring them. Organizing them. Optimizing the best ways to enjoy them. But have I played any? No. How the hell did I get this so backwards?

I really need to find a way to separate my office space/PC from my gaming space. Right now everything's crammed in one room and I feel like I need to spread myself out. Too much stuff in one small space. It's like gaming claustrophobia. 😆

I have spent the ENTIRE day running cable, connecting hookups, and re-ordering my entire office. Mainly from a cable standpoint, but decided "EFF IT" and added another couple of monitors. Some cable management and other ticky-tack stuff. ...and I know in two months I'll rip it apart again...😅

Funny enough, I’ve been exploring a handful of games on the PS4 lately and man…some of those games are cheap AF right now. Even lots of PS5 releases that also came out on the PS4…if you can handle some QoL details (and that’s even a stretch) there’s so much value in the console. Get a PS4.

All these danged video games everywhere and I just want to play Halo again.

😆 Exactly how I feel. I had the "pleasure" of playing this in 1995/96 and there was nothing about it then that had me excited to play it again now. If you enjoy it, I love that for you. But there's zero part of me who had any interest in revisiting this again. More than content to pass. 😄

I had never played FFV up until a couple of years ago and I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Not that I didn’t expect to. But it was such an enjoyable experience. Better than I hoped!

I sometimes feel guilty when I take days off and do a little bit of nothing; just tinkering, tidying, and enjoying things around my office. But I also remind myself that my life is a race, 24/7 right now and I need to take advantage of this time. Always an internal battle, but enjoying the day. 🙂

A few years ago, I invested money into a gaming PC because I thought I would really enjoy gaming with more powerful hardware and really cheap Steam sales. I find it (almost) funny that I've learned one thing about myself... I really don't enjoy PC gaming. Or gaming at a PC. Like, at all.
