My understanding is that publishing rates for illustration largely hasn’t changed in 100 years. I don’t mean that it kept up with inflation, I mean that after the camera came along the rates did not increase over the next 100 years. And those were the GOOD jobs. Many places paid less.

Probably THE formative reading experience of my youth. Wendy made me want to become an artist, and over the years I've tracked down a full run of all the original issues (as well as the BEAUTIFULLY-painted Donner editions). I always, always recommend this series to anyone and everyone.

Saw a completely random post with the word "exaduration" in it, and I legit had to stare at it for a full minute before my brain remembered how to spell "exaggeration."

Finally back writing after a few weeks away. I've been having a hard time—stuck on a chapter where I need to convey a fair bit of backstory without it turning into an exposition dump—but I think I might have cracked it. When in doubt, have a young adult get pissed off and argue with their parents.
