If you’ve broken in, and deliberately set the stairs on fire, you’re trying to prevent people (including little children) from escaping and hoping that the inhabitants burn to death. Also, this is an attack on a state-sponsored facility. When are we going to call it - it’s terrorism?

This is not what someone does if they are a "concerned local". And every "protestor" at asylum seeker accommodation is part of the road leading up to something like this being done.

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.
