Preordered an iPhone 17 Pro in silver. Almost went with the base model now that it has ProMotion, and I think it looks better, but didn’t want to lose camera features.

Thinking about preordering a new phone on Friday, and now that they have ProMotion, I’m tempted to go with the base model. I think it looks better than the Pro, and it would be nice to have a lighter phone. I’m just not sure how much I’d miss the telephoto lens and the screen size of my 15 Pro Max.

After having used it for a few days on my main phone, I quite like the new minimal design of Safari on iOS 26, but there has to be a better way to make things legible than the automatic switching between light and dark mode.

I’ve been spending some time during my vacation working on a few updates for my website. It’s been refreshing, and it definitely feels a lot more “lightweight” compared to app development.

I don’t know if I’m completely sold on the confirmation dialogs in iOS 26. The morphing animation looks pretty nice, but the light gray button inside the white capsule does look a bit out of place.

Finished watching season 2 of The Last of Us over the weekend. Season 1 was great, but this one was pretty mediocre. I thought Bella Ramsey did a good job as “young” Ellie, but here it falls flat. This becomes especially obvious if you’ve played Part 2, at times, it almost felt like a teenage drama.

Git worktrees feel like they’re made for running local agents. It’s great to be able to have Claude Code chugging along on a different task in a separate tab.

If you’re like me and don’t like the new behavior around pinning tabs in Xcode 26, there’s a setting to revert it to how it works in Xcode 16 and VS Code.

I’ve been playing around a bit with Claude Code today, and so far, I’m really impressed. I can definitely see where all the hype is coming from. It’s great that it’s terminal-based, so you’re not stuck having to use a VS Code fork.

I’m thinking of bumping the minimum deployment target to iOS and watchOS 26 in @strengthy.app. Since I'm not planning to release it before the fall anyway, it’ll save me a lot of work if I can focus solely on making it feel at home in the new design language.

Added macOS as a supported platform for all SPM targets in @strengthy.app. This speeds up tests and lays the groundwork for a future “admin” app. Test time went from 7 to 4 minutes when running with Xcode Cloud.
