Historian of crime, death and women here. The law these women are being persecuted is the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act. It is 164 years old. It was introduced when women had no pregnancy tests, no ultrasound scans.

This weekend was mostly taken up with migraines - one on Friday afternoon that didn’t really hurt too much but had various sensory features, and another yesterday evening that was hellish painful. I among those, though, I’ve read loads, and rested without guilt.
