If CPD grants was 1st, 2nd at HUD to receive the boot was the Office of Environment and Energy. I know you’re all super surprised based on the name right? But this office was doing some pretty incredible work guiding HUD policy around floodplain management, energy codes & building technology.

In addition to kneecapping FHEO, (remember the denials?). RIFs dealt huge blows to CPD HQ staff that fund affordable housing development, community infrastructure, relocation and down payment assistance & even meals on wheels. We fund the development of affordable housing, community investment and self-sufficiency. We support local governments. We help people recover from natural disasters. We support Tribal communities. We fund rental housing for the working poor, the elderly, veterans, the disabled and children.
