The fact that UTS is even considering defunding 2SER-FM, & contemplating its demise, looks even more absurd when you read about community radio's massive benefits.

There is such cognitive dissonance about AI. News reports that AI creates child abuse material, yet people happily upload a picture of their kid to make a photo of them as a superhero.

You will need a jacket if you come to Sydney in winter. Not for the sky weather, but for all the places they just leave the aircon running 365. Like the shops and the bus.

Someone needs to tell the ABC and the Australian government that the term "grandfathering" is inherently racist. It comes from a policy designed to exclude emancipated black voters in the USA. There was a literacy test that white people didn't need to pass if their grandfather was registered to vote

Today is not a great day for everyone. I've spent the last 6 weeks unsubscribing from emails and disabling notifications on triggering apps. The woman who started Mother's Day campaigned against the crass commercialisation of it. Hope you have a nice day whatever you're doing.

Book and bell! Tidying my office I found a good door prize for the reading tomorrow at Twisted Fiction, 6pm The Shakespeare Hotel, Surry Hills. The sterling silver bell charm is Belgaer, from a box of “seconds” I found. It is not perfectly cast so probably even more dangerous. See you there!
