We apologise for the silence. The plan was to build up momentum in the lead up to Seattle, but do to some personal tragedies that had to be put on hold. However, we are back, and we plan on making Brisbane the best Worldcon it can be.

Hello everyone! After some consultation, we've changed the planned dates for Worldcon 2028 in Brisbane to be the weekend after the total solar eclipse that will be passing through Australia. Our planned dates are now Thursday 27 to Monday 31 July, 2028!

While Brisbane in 28 is still 4 years away, we are trying to make sure we have policies in place well ahead of when we need them. To that end, our current Covid policy is: * Mandatory masking in all con spaces * Free masks for those who need them * Individual exemptions to those who require it

We are currently considering shifting the dates of our bid, to better align with the total solar eclipse that will be passing through Australia on July 22nd, 2028. We'll update you once we have made our decision.

I would like to offer an apology. I have now been informed that the Brisbane in 28 party *did* also include fairy bread. I'm sorry that I omitted this vital piece of information from my earlier post. 😜
