Een Palestijn, vluchteling en activist, pleegde zelfdoding in het gesloten centrum 127bis. Voor collega-activisten is zijn dood het gevolg van ‘toegenomen repressie’. De vraag is of zijn dood niet vooral iets zegt over psychiatrische zorg voor mensen die uitgeprocedeerd zijn.

❌ Zeg niet: "In het gesloten centrum worden mensen opgevangen die geen verblijfsvergunning krijgen in België en terug moeten naar hun thuisland." ✅ maar: "In het detentiecentrum worden mensen opgesloten om administratieve redenen. De overheid probeert hen uit te wijzen naar een ander land."
