I'm going on maternity leave in ~3 weeks for 2nd baby. Trying to battle the rising panic of taking months out of work after a not very productive (academically speaking) year. My head knows that it will be fine, my anxiety is not listening! Anyone else been there? @academic-chatter.bsky.social

I'm reminded of a seminar with Doug Holt, a marketing prof, who'd worked on segmentations of US citizens & what they needed to act on climate. Some people *wanted* to be told how to live, they wanted direction. Others needed incentives. Others needed different frames again.

This research shows that rich countries are responsible for massive deforestation embodied in their consumption. On a per capita basis, Canada is responsible for 15x more deforestation than China, the USA is responsible for 40x more deforestation than India, etc. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
