I just had a professor decline my suggestion that we discuss Russo-Centrism in our field at their institute because it might hurt the feelings of a Russian colleague there. At the same time, they denied that we have a problem with privileging Russian perspectives. Ok... 3/3

This sounds all too familiar. Some scholars limit their support for Ukraine to spheres in which they feel comfortable. But they are not prepared to face the colonial legacies of their field, where they perhaps even (God forbid!) would have to admit mistakes and their own blind spots. 2/3
