There was a mistake with the "Less Intense Palette" option in Zexion causing wacky unintended palettes in a few areas. I think players using that option thought it was intentional because of how weird those areas are! It's been fixed in the latest patch. #indiedev #gamedev #gaming

Zexion features tons of different assist options to fine tune the difficulty of the game, should you need to. Lot's of different damage settings, and even Save States! So almost anyone should be able to play it. Doesn't prevent achievements either. #indiedev #gamedev #gaming

I'm going to plug this game here too. This is a fantastic Metroid style game. If you're wanting something like NES Metroid where the action is harder and faster paced, I cannot recommend this enough. I got three bosses in and knew this game is ultimate.

krita / gimp question: does anyone know if there's a way to change the sequence of zoom levels in either program? i specifically never, ever want to see noninteger scaled pixels (eg 550%). seems like it should be possible to set the sequence manually.

My custom game engine has save states. They've been very useful for testing things! Players can enable them through the assist menu. Helpful for practicing speedrun tricks, or if you need to stop and aren't near a save point. Or if you want extra checkpoints #gamedev #gaming #indiedev #indiegamedev

My game has no screen transitions, the whole map is in one giant seamless "room". It also uses shaders for indexed color palettes. Which I highly recommend if you're making a game with a retro aesthetic, or one with a limited palette. #gamedev #gaming #indiedev #indiedev #indiegamedev
