The Trump administration's trans erasure is not a side issue, but a catalyst and tool to legitimize its authoritarian policies with 'common sense'. Common sense rhetoric is a powerful strategy of the Far Right, it normalizes violent politics. But 'ordinary' trans hostility is their breeding ground.

Heterosexuality must be so fragile if kids are ‘indoctrinated’ into ‘gay lifestyles’ by just seeing gay people kiss in public. I’m very glad homosexuality is far more resilient. As a kid, I endured years of seeing straight people express affection (on TV, on the streets, etc) and still stayed gay!
